MJH Car Rider Procedures
Due to MJH and MIS now starting school at the same time, significant changes have been made to the car-rider procedures for both schools.
As illustrated in the maps below, all MJH car-rider drop-off and pick-up will enter off of Nichols Sawmill Rd., follow a traffic loop through the back parking lot, and then conclude in the front of the building.
Families with students at both MJH and MIS should drop-off and pick-up their students using the MIS car-rider line, which takes place on the east side of the building via Sanders St.
Drop-Off In The Morning
Cars are to enter off of Nichols Sawmill Rd. and remain in a single-file line through the traffic loop in the back parking lot to arrive in the designated Drop-off Zone. Vehicles will be instructed to pull up as far as they are able in this zone to enable the most efficient loading and unloading of students. Staff members are present each morning to help direct cars to pull-up, as necessary. Students should only exit vehicle doors on the curbside, as cars will be permitted to pass in the left lane. At no point should vehicles be passing others during drop off UNTIL their students have exited in the drop-off zone. Traffic will exit using either the left or right turn lane onto Nichols Sawmill Rd.
Parents with a son in 8th grade Athletics are permitted to use the MIS car-rider line after the first day of school to drop-off at the field house.

Pick-Up In The Afternoon
The pick-up procedure in the afternoon follows the same traffic pattern as morning drop-off.
Prior to dismissal at 3:15 p.m., vehicles will form a single-file line near the curb and around the back of the building. Once school ends and students begin to find their ride, a staff member will help cars that have retrieved their student to pull out of the line and pass in the left lane to keep traffic moving, if necessary. Vehicles should not pull out into this lane unless instructed. Traffic will exit using either the left or right turn lane onto Nichols Sawmill Rd.
Parents with a son in 7th grade Athletics are advised to use to use the MIS car-rider line after the first day of school to pick-up at the field house.

As with most procedures of this sort, success largely depends on the familiarity of those participating in them. With the help of our school community in this regard, we can ensure an efficient drop-off and pick-up process.
