Do you want to keep up with the latest Anime, Manga, or learn more about Japanese culture?
Description:
- Students who enjoy anime or manga can come together to talk about current anime/mangas as well as learn about the history of anime and manga. Through rich discussions about this unique form or storytelling will allow students to understand the various different forms of literature and animation.

- Wednesday Mornings at 6:40 in the Library

Description:
- Mustangs Read Book Club is open to all students at any time during the school year. This student led club will select books based off interest in the fiction, non fiction or graphic novel genre each month. Students will utilize their literacy skills that will allow them to think critically about the books they read.
Meetings:
- Meetings will occur Wednesday mornings in the Library at 6:40am.

Horse Judging
On the horse judging team, you will evaluate and rank horses based on breed characteristics, conformation, and performance.
Competition:
We will compete against other school FFA horse judging teams at contests around the state.
Requirements:
- You do not need horse experience to participate
- You must be a member of Magnolia West FFA (sign-up fee is $25) and enrolled in an Agriculture Science elective (either semester) to participate.
Meeting & Practice Times:
- Meetings will be held in room 503 on Wednesdays from 2:30- 4:00 pm.
- Practice will start in November.

Livestock Judging
Description:
Students will learn how to judge cattle, sheep, goats, and hogs. Students will participate in livestock judging competitions against other schools.
How to Join?
Students will need to be enrolled in at least one Ag class at the beginning of the year (can be in either semester) and they will need to fill out the forms to become a member of the Magnolia West FFA.
Dues for FFA are $25.

Chess Club
Chess club is for any 7th grade or 8th grade student interested in playing Chess!
Description:
- Whether a novice or an expert, you're invited to play with other students who enjoy playing this game of strategy.
- During the Fall semester, we will primarily focus on playing "tournament style" match play chess.
- Once Spring semester starts, we will focus about 75% of our meetings practicing UIL Chess Puzzles format which is quite different if you have never participated. * Think of UIL Chess Puzzles like you would brain teasers that will help you grow your critical thinking skills*
