8th Grade Boys Take District Track Championship!

The 8th grade Magnolia Junior High Boys' Track Team competed in nearly every event, scoring points in all but 4 events. With those results, the Mustangs were crowned district champs.  In field events they were led by Marquise Stubblefield who took 2nd in long jump, Landon Thomas who placed 5th in long jump, and Jayden Cruz who got 4th in high jump. Cody Costello broke a 22 year old school record in the triple jump by jumping 41' 1" and beating the field by nearly 3 feet.  In running events, Mitchell Traweek and Yovanny Portillo took 4th and 5th in the 2400, while Quentin Maxwell got 4th in the 800.  The team of Costello, Stubblefield, Marcus Collins, and Landon Thomas won the 4x1 relay.  Jayden Cruz continued his dominance in the 110 Hurdles and was crowned district champ, and Matthew Maciejeski finished 5th in both the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles.  Marquise Stubblefield finished 3rd in the 100M dash, while picking up a 2nd in the 200M dash. In the 4x400 relay, Kyle Possoit, Quentin Maxwell, Jeff Krop, and Cody Costello finished 2nd.
