David Slater Named Principal for Magnolia Junior High

“I am honored and humbled to have been selected for this position, and excited to continue all the good work that’s been done at Magnolia Junior High over the past two years,” stated Slater. “There is something very special happening on our campus right now, and I feel privileged for this chance to serve the talented team that’s helping realize our vision of being the best junior high in the state of Texas.”

Slater has been an integral part of developing a positive, high achieving school culture. He has worked with departmental teams to ensure high-quality instruction and assessments, created programs to support the language development of the English language learner population, and implemented school-wide incentive programs promoting student engagement—all enabling students to achieve their highest academic potential.

Prior to moving into education, he was the director for a large retailer out of New York in which his responsibilities included analyzing sales and competitive data, and overseeing the communication internally and externally for over 200 stores.

Slater holds a Bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University, and a Master of Business Administration from St. Edward’s University in Austin.

He and his wife Hanna, who is also in education, have been married for five years and have a two-year-old daughter, Brynn. They are active members in the community and belong to St. James Episcopal Church in Conroe.
