Final Week of Online Learning in Virtual Orientations

Students will not have new assignments in their electives this week, unless they are in an advanced or high school credit course.

If students have accepted their invite to the course, then it should already be visible on their Canvas Dashboard. During the week, this is where students will click to find work, since the other Canvas courses on their Dashboard are subject to change. Invites to the orientation courses will be sent out again to any student who hasn’t previously accepted.

The other important thing to know about this week is that we’re considering it an opportunity for “make-up,” remediation, tutorials, and test prep. For a variety of reasons, online learning has gone more smoothly for some than others, and we want to make sure we give every student the chance to succeed. With that in mind, students will not have their normal synchronous lessons on Monday and Tuesday this week, but teachers will be making themselves available for synchronous tutoring sessions. Teachers may also be reaching out to set up special sessions with groups of students who need help getting back on track. Otherwise, this week will give students a chance to complete assignments, submit work, and prepare for any tests and quizzes that are scheduled after Labor Day.
