8th Grade Promotion Ceremony Details

The 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Competition Gym, and parents and guests should enter through the school's front doors. Due to the construction taking place behind our building, parent parking will be located across the street from MJH in the field next to the MISD Educational Service Center. There will be police and staff members to direct traffic to and in this parking area. We are reserving the parking spaces in front of our building for the handicapped and elderly. However, feel free to drop guests off at the front doors by way of the circle drive before parking across the street. 
 
 
 
Please DO NOT park on the east side of the building near the gym, as this area is required for the buses that will arrive prior to our end-of-the-day dismissal. 
 
When you arrive at the front, members of our Student Council will be there to escort groups of parents and guests to the gym. We anticipate that the ceremony will take around an hour and a half. Afterwards, parents in attendance will be invited to join their student in our practice gym for pictures and to pick-up awards. The practice gym will be set-up with multiple backdrops for students and their families to take pictures at once.
 
At the conclusion of the ceremony, parents are welcome to take their student home with them. If you intend to provide a ride for any child other than your own, we ask that you please bring a written note from that child's parents and drop it off at the front desk when you arrive.
 
We are looking forward to this opportunity to recognize the hard work and accomplishments of ALL our 8th grade students.
